What format is the video?

MP4 in Safari and recent versions of Chrome and Edge, which is what Threads accepts. Browsers that can only record WebM, like Firefox, make a WebM file you'll need to convert first.

Is there a watermark or a length limit?

No watermark. You can add up to 20 photos at up to 8 seconds each.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. The video is made in your browser from your photos, and nothing is sent to a server.
