I spent a year posting on Threads every day. Here is what actually moved the numbers, and what didn't. First, consistency beat volume. Two thoughtful posts a day did better than six rushed ones. The algorithm seems to reward posts people stop for, and I couldn't write six of those a day. Second, replies matter more than likes. My best weeks were the ones where I answered every comment within an hour. Conversations keep a post in front of people for longer. 1/2

Third, timing is personal. The "best time to post" articles were a starting point, but my audience was most active late in the evening. I only found that out by looking at my own numbers. Finally, write like you talk. My most-viewed posts read like a message to a friend, not like a press release. 2/2

How the thread splitter works

The splitter keeps paragraphs together when they fit, then breaks at sentence ends, and only splits between words when a sentence is longer than a post. Every post, numbering included, stays within the 500-character limit.

Tips for a chain people finish

  • Make the first post work on its own. It's the only one most people see first.
  • Keep one idea per post, and end each one with a reason to read the next.
  • Finish with a question or a takeaway, so people have something to reply to.

In 1Threads you can schedule a whole chain at once: each post publishes as a reply to the one before, in order. Try it in the demo.
