Long sentences to split
  • They plan elaborate calendars, research optimal posting frequencies across multiple platforms, and analyze competitor performance metrics before writing a single sentence, which means they rarely publish anything at all.

How the score works

The checker uses the Flesch reading ease formula, which looks at how long your sentences are and how many syllables your words have. Scores run from 0 to 100: higher is easier. The grade level is the Flesch–Kincaid estimate of the US school grade needed to follow the text.

Making a post easier to read

  • Split sentences over about 25 words. The checker lists them for you.
  • Swap long words for short ones: use, not utilize; help, not facilitate.
  • Give each idea its own line. White space makes a post easier to scan.
