How to Schedule Threads Posts: A Complete Guide

Plan a week of Threads posts in one sitting. How scheduling works, what you can schedule, and a simple weekly routine that keeps you consistent.

Posting consistently is the most reliable way to grow on Threads, and the hardest to keep up. Scheduling turns "I should post something" into one focused session a week. This guide covers how scheduling works, what you can schedule and a routine that sticks.

Why schedule Threads posts?

  • Consistency without the daily scramble. Write when you're in the mood, publish when your audience is around.
  • Better timing. Your best hour might be when you're asleep or busy.
  • Better posts. Writing in batches gives you room to edit, cut and pick your strongest ideas.

What you can schedule

A good Threads scheduler should handle everything you'd post by hand:

  • Text posts up to 500 characters, with links
  • Images and videos, including carousels of up to 10 items
  • Polls, topic tags and spoilers
  • Who can reply: everyone, people you follow or only people you mention
  • Chains: a series of posts that publish as replies to each other, in order

How to schedule a post with 1Threads

  1. Write. Open Compose, write your post and attach any media. The live preview shows how it will look on Threads.
  2. Pick a time. Choose a date and time, or use a slot from your best time to post heatmap.
  3. Schedule. The post goes on your calendar and publishes within a minute or two of its time, even if your laptop is closed.
  4. Adjust. Drag a post to another day on the calendar to reschedule it, with undo if you change your mind.
You can try the whole flow in the live demo. Nothing is published and no sign-up is needed.

A weekly routine that takes under an hour

WhenWhat
Monday, 20 minLook at last week: which posts stood out, and what did they share?
Monday, 30 minWrite 7 to 14 posts. One idea per post. Cut anything that drags.
Monday, 5 minSchedule them into your best slots for the week.
Daily, 10 minReply to comments. Conversations are where posts gain reach.

Mistakes to avoid

  • Scheduling and disappearing. Automate the posting, not the conversation. Replies still need you.
  • Ignoring the news. Glance at your queue when something big happens; a cheerful post can land badly on the wrong day.
  • Posting too much. Two good posts a day beat six rushed ones.

Automate it further

If you publish from a CMS, a newsletter or your own scripts, the 1Threads REST API can queue, schedule and publish posts for you. Note that Threads limits each account to 250 posts per 24 hours through the API, which is far more than any healthy schedule needs.
