How the Threads character limit works
A Threads post can be up to 500 characters long. Letters, spaces, line breaks, links and emoji all count. This counter counts emoji as one character each, so the number you see is close to what Threads checks when you post.
How to use this counter
- Type or paste your draft into the box.
- Watch the ring fill up. It turns amber near the limit and red when you're over.
- Check the preview, then copy the text into Threads.
