Scheduled posts go out within 1–2 minutes of scheduledAt, from the account they belong to. With action: "publish" the request waits up to about 25 seconds for Threads; videos can take longer, and the post then finishes publishing in the background (status 202).

Attach files by uploading them with Upload media first and passing the returned ids in media.

accountstring

Optional: a key always acts for its own account. If given, the account id or username (with or without @) must be the key's, or the request gets account_forbidden.

textstring

Up to 500 characters. Wrap text in ||double bars|| to hide it as a spoiler. Can be empty when there's media.

mediaarray

Up to 10 uploaded file ids, as strings or { "id", "alt" } objects with alt text (up to 1000 characters). Two or more make a carousel.

optionsobject

Reply target, topic, poll, link preview and more. See Post options.

actionstring

draft, schedule or publish. Default: schedule when scheduledAt is given, otherwise draft.

scheduledAtISO 8601

When to publish, with a time zone: 2026-11-02T09:00:00Z or 2026-11-02T14:00:00+05:00. Must be in the future. On drafts it's the planned day shown on the calendar.
